Yangcu

Dynamic visual identity for a non-recognized nation

Yangcu is the project for a brand that aims to represent a non-recognized nation in Vietnam, where the Montagnards-Degar population lives, through the use of a dynamic visual identity.

The brand's aim is to spread Degar's culture and history in the western world, which this population cherish for historical reasons. The result is an identity that takes visual and cultural clues from the Degar themselves and uses them in a series of modular design fields, like textiles and communal areas architecture.

The visual identity was developed through the help of Processing, in order to make the creation of the horizontal elements fast and easy. The tool was later repurposed to be used by the users in Yangcu's conceptual website.
